  • Author: Catalina
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings (about 8-10 patties) 1x

Description

These crispy and flavorful salmon patties are easy to make and bursting with delicious seasonings. Made with canned salmon, they’re a quick weeknight meal or a perfect appetizer. Serve with a squeeze of fresh lime and a side of tartar sauce for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 (5 oz.) cans boneless skinless salmon
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • A few dashes of seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cilantro (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon parsley
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or olive oil)
  • 1 fresh lime (for serving)

  • Tartar sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Prepare the salmon: Drain the cans of salmon and remove any bones or skin. Flake the salmon with a fork and place it in a large bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients: Add the milk, panko bread crumbs, eggs, salt, black pepper, seasoned salt, cilantro, onion powder, and parsley to the bowl. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Form the patties: Scoop out a portion of the salmon mixture and shape it into a patty about 3-4 inches in diameter. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
  • Fry the patties: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Serve: Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve the salmon patties with a squeeze of fresh lime and a side of tartar sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can freeze the patties for later. Just form the patties and place them on a baking sheet in the freezer. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag for storage. Fry from frozen when you’re ready to eat.
  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the salmon mixture.

  • You can serve these salmon patties on a bun for a seafood burger, or alongside a fresh salad.
