Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook.
  • Let cool before cutting into sticks.
