Description

Cookie Dough Oreo Brownies are a decadent and irresistible dessert that combines three beloved treats: fudgy brownies, cookie dough, and Oreos. The rich, chocolatey brownie base is topped with a layer of creamy, eggless cookie dough and then sandwiched with crunchy Oreo cookies for an extra layer of flavor and texture. This indulgent dessert is perfect for any occasion and will satisfy all your sweet cravings in one bite. Serve them warm for a gooey, melty experience or chilled for a more structured treat.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Layer:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

For the Cookie Dough Layer:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup milk (or as needed)

  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

For the Oreo Layer:

  • 12 Oreo cookies (or as many as needed to cover the brownie layer)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Brownie Layer:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and combined.

    • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until fully incorporated.

    • Fold in the chocolate chips.

    • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  • Prepare the Cookie Dough Layer:

    • In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

    • Stir in the vanilla extract.

    • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until combined.

    • Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together (it should be thick but spreadable).

    • Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  • Assemble the Brownies:

    • Place a layer of Oreo cookies over the brownie batter in the pan, pressing them down slightly to fit.

    • Spread the cookie dough evenly over the Oreos, smoothing it out to cover them completely.

    • Bake the assembled brownies in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are fine).

    • Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares.

  • Serve:

    • Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and enjoy! For an extra treat, serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Storage: These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.

  • Freezing: These brownies freeze well. Store them in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.

  • For a Chewier Texture: Bake the brownies for a shorter amount of time for a gooey, chewy texture.

  • Customization: Feel free to swap out the Oreos for your favorite cookies, such as Chips Ahoy or peanut butter cookies, for a fun twist.
