  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream and extra chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, and vegetable oil.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve with whipped cream and extra chocolate chips on top.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract to the batter.
  • If you like your pancakes extra chocolatey, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top of the pancakes while cooking.
