  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup filled M&Ms, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated.
  • Fold in chopped filled M&Ms.
  • Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow cakes to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

  • You can use any type of M&Ms, but filled M&Ms add an extra surprise in every bite.
