For the Pancakes:

Instructions

  • Prepare the pancake batter:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix—the batter should be lumpy.
  • Cook the pancakes:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.
    • For each pancake, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until small bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.
    • Repeat until all the pancakes are cooked.
  • Assemble the pancake stacks:
    • Spread a thin layer of Nutella on top of one pancake, then stack another pancake on top. Continue stacking pancakes and spreading Nutella between each layer until you have a tall stack.
  • Add the toppings:
    • Drizzle more Nutella over the top of the stack and garnish with sliced strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
