- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine peaches and sugar. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Melt butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Pour over melted butter.
- Spoon peaches over the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use fresh, ripe peaches when in season. You can also substitute with canned peaches if fresh ones aren’t available.
