For the Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
For the Peanut Butter Frosting:
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until well combined.
- Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer the cakes to wire racks to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the peanut butter and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, beating until the frosting is creamy.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread half of the peanut butter frosting over the top. Place the second layer on top and spread the remaining frosting evenly on top.

Notes
