Warm and indulgent, this Mexican hot chocolate combines the rich taste of cocoa with a hint of cinnamon and a touch of chili powder for a cozy, spicy twist.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Continue to heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until hot.
  • Pour the hot chocolate into a cocktail glass with a sugar-cinnamon rim.
  • Top with whipped cream and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, you can rim the glass with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon before pouring in the hot chocolate.
