This fresh and flavorful Crab Salad is a light yet satisfying dish, perfect for a refreshing lunch or as a side to complement any seafood meal. Made with sweet, tender crab meat, crunchy vegetables, and a creamy dressing, this salad is both simple and elegant.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) fresh or canned crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper (red or green), finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Vegetables:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, celery, red onion, bell pepper, cucumber, and parsley.
  • Make the Dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Combine:
Pour the dressing over the crab mixture and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
  • Chill:
Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve:
Serve the crab salad chilled, either on its own, as a sandwich filling, in lettuce cups, or with crackers.

Notes

  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can swap half of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
  • Add avocado for extra creaminess or a sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning for a traditional seafood flavor.
