These hearty, stuffed pasta shells are filled with a creamy ricotta and mozzarella mixture, paired with savory ground beef, and smothered in marinara sauce. Baked to perfection, this dish is a comforting family favorite.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 box jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix until smooth.
  • Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the cheese mixture and browned ground beef.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the stuffed shells on top of the sauce.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
  • You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
