¼ cup finely chopped onion
-
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Olive oil for cooking (if pan-frying)
For the Tzatziki Sauce:

-
½ cucumber, grated and drained
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
-
1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking the meatballs.
-
Prepare the meatball mixture:
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix everything until well combined. -
Form meatballs:
Using your hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. You should get about 20-24 meatballs, depending on size. -
Cook the meatballs:
-
Option 1 – Baking: Place the meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
-
Option 2 – Pan-frying: Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs in batches for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and cooked through.
-
-
Prepare the tzatziki sauce:
In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well mixed.
-
Serve:
Serve the meatballs with the tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping or drizzle the sauce over the top. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
-
For extra flavor: You can add a pinch of ground cinnamon to the meatball mixture for a subtle warming flavor.
-
Tzatziki Tip: Make the tzatziki sauce ahead of time to allow the flavors to meld together.
-
Meatball Cooking Tip: If you prefer your meatballs crispy, pan-fry them, but for a healthier version, baking is a great option.
