  • Yield: 2 pizzas (8 slices each) 1x

Description

This Homemade Pizza recipe is a simple yet delicious way to make pizza from scratch. With a soft, crispy crust, rich pizza sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, it’s a perfect meal to customize with your favorite toppings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, vegetables, etc.)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, olive oil, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a pizza crust on a floured surface.
  • Transfer the crusts to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each crust.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce and add your favorite toppings.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • Slice and serve!

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone or preheat your baking sheet before adding the dough.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with whatever you like, such as mushrooms, olives, or sausage.
  • You can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours for a deeper flavor.
