These Pork and Fennel Sausage Rolls are savory, crispy, and bursting with flavor. Made with ground pork, fennel seeds, and seasoned to perfection, all wrapped in golden puff pastry, they make a perfect appetizer, snack, or party food. Quick to prepare and bake, these sausage rolls are a crowd-pleaser!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, fennel seeds, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and breadcrumbs.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal rectangles.
  • Divide the pork mixture into 4 portions and shape into logs. Place each log onto a puff pastry rectangle.
  • Roll up the pastry, sealing the edges with the beaten egg.
  • Cut each roll into smaller pieces and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with more beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Notes

  • Make sure to fully seal the edges of the pastry to avoid the filling spilling out while baking.
  • You can add a dash of chili flakes for a spicy kick if desired.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the breadcrumbs with a gluten-free alternative.
