- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease cookie sheets.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
- Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir this mixture into the cocoa mixture until fully incorporated.
- Fold in Walnuts: Gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Form Cookies: Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake: Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the cookies are set and firm to the touch.
- Cool & Dust: Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks. Once cooled, dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a festive touch, you can add red or green sprinkles on top before baking.
- If you don’t like walnuts, you can easily substitute them with other nuts like pecans, or omit them for a nut-free version.
