Description

These soft and fluffy cake donuts are coated with a glossy pink glaze, making them not only delicious but visually delightful. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or a special treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Pink food coloring

Instructions

  • Prepare the Donuts:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The dough will be thick.
    • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and use a donut cutter to shape the donuts.
  • Fry the Donuts:
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
    • Fry the donuts in batches, being careful not to overcrowd. Cook each donut for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
    • Remove donuts from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Prepare the Glaze:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
    • Add pink food coloring, a drop at a time, until you reach the desired shade of pink.
  • Glaze the Donuts:
    • Dip each cooled donut into the pink glaze, ensuring the top is coated evenly. Allow any excess glaze to drip off.
    • Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving

Notes

  • If you don’t have a donut cutter, you can use two round cookie cutters of different sizes to make the donut shape.
  • Adjust the pink food coloring to achieve the intensity of color you prefer.
