Ingredients
Scale
For the Donuts:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- Pink food coloring
Instructions
- Prepare the Donuts:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The dough will be thick.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and use a donut cutter to shape the donuts.
- Fry the Donuts:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the donuts in batches, being careful not to overcrowd. Cook each donut for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove donuts from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Add pink food coloring, a drop at a time, until you reach the desired shade of pink.
- Glaze the Donuts:
- Dip each cooled donut into the pink glaze, ensuring the top is coated evenly. Allow any excess glaze to drip off.
- Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving
Notes
- If you don’t have a donut cutter, you can use two round cookie cutters of different sizes to make the donut shape.
- Adjust the pink food coloring to achieve the intensity of color you prefer.
