Description

These Chocolate Heart Pretzels are a fun and sweet twist on the classic salty-sweet snack. Crispy pretzels are transformed into adorable heart shapes, covered in rich, melty chocolate, and topped with festive sprinkles or toppings of your choice. Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any time you want to show someone you care, these chocolate-covered treats are simple, delicious, and so cute!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pretzel twists (mini or regular-sized)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
  • ½ teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles or festive toppings (like mini M&Ms, crushed nuts, or sea salt)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pretzels: Lay the pretzels out on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a heart shape. For each pretzel, take two pretzel twists and arrange them in the shape of a heart. Repeat with the rest of the pretzels.

  • Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) in 20-second intervals, stirring between each. Once melted and smooth, stir in the coconut oil (if using) for a glossy finish.

  • Dip the Pretzels: Using a spoon or a fork, carefully dip the pretzel hearts into the melted chocolate, ensuring the pretzels are well-coated. Place the chocolate-covered pretzels back onto the parchment paper.

  • Drizzle with White Chocolate: If using white chocolate, melt the white chocolate chips in the same way as the semi-sweet chocolate. Once melted, drizzle the white chocolate over the chocolate-covered pretzels using a spoon or piping bag.

  • Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle your heart-shaped sprinkles or other toppings onto each pretzel for a festive look.

  • Let the Chocolate Set: Allow the pretzels to cool and the chocolate to harden. This can be done at room temperature, or if you’re in a hurry, place them in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.

  • Serve and Enjoy: Once the chocolate has set, your chocolate heart pretzels are ready to be served! Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize these pretzels with your favorite toppings, such as crushed candy, sprinkles, or even a drizzle of caramel.
  • If you want to make them even more indulgent, you can use white chocolate for the base layer and dark chocolate for drizzling.
  • These are great as gifts, especially for Valentine’s Day. Just package them in a cute gift box or bag with a ribbon.
