  • Author: Catalina
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: Approximately 12 macarons (6 sandwich cookies) 1x

Description

These Easy Macarons are delicate, flavorful, and perfect for any occasion. With a light and crispy shell and a soft, chewy interior, they’re a sweet treat that will impress anyone who tastes them.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, sift together the powdered sugar and almond flour.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites until fully combined. Add food coloring if desired.
  • Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Tap the baking sheet on the counter to release any air bubbles, then let the macarons sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the macarons are set.
  • Allow the macarons to cool completely before filling and sandwiching together.

Notes

  • Ensure the egg whites are at room temperature before whipping for the best results.
  • If your macarons don’t form perfectly, practice helps; don’t worry if they aren’t perfect the first time!
  • You can fill them with chocolate ganache, buttercream, or any desired filling.
