- 2–3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in the flour, salt, and lemon zest until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out Christmas tree shapes with a cookie cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
